KIWI is the right answer because it isn't an acronym for a major organization unlike

the other choices.


Viva Verbal Reasoning Exercise 2 #69 pg. 499

Which is the odd word out?

a. NOTA

b. NATO

c. NASA

d. NAM


NOTA= None of the Above

NATO= North Atlantic Trade Organization

NASA= National Aeronautics Space Administration

NAM= Non-Aligned Movement (Cold War-era term)


NOTA is the only choice that isn't an organization.

Which is the odd one out?

A. GAMMA

B. KAPPA

C. IOTA

D. NAFTA

E. OMEGA F. ETA


NAFTA is the right answer because it isn't a Greek letter unlike the other choices. It's

a major trade organization.



R Gupta's Verbal Reasoning Exercise 3A

a. Tricycle

b. Trident

c. Trifle

d. Tricolor

e. Trilogy


In all the other words, tri refers to the root meaning three. If trilby was in the answer choices instead of trifle (from an IQ test card set), it would also be the right answer. A trilby is a narrow-brimmed hat that was a status symbol.

Carousel, turntable, escalator, waterwheel, propeller


Escalator is the only word in this list that doesn't move circularly.
